A MASTER'S THESIS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH EXAMINES THE ASSESSMENT OF THE REALITY OF INVESTMENT IN THE OIL SECTOR IN IRAQ:
A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, Department of Economics, examined the assessment of the reality of investment in the oil sector in Iraq for the years (2004-2023).
The thesis, presented by student Zainab Talib Abbas, aims to clarify the economic impact of oil investment in Iraq. It addresses the reality of oil investment and the most prominent problems and challenges facing it, particularly the rising cost of oil. The thesis reached a number of conclusions, most notably the role of the oil sector in financing economic activities by more than 90%, and that the rise in oil costs is a result of rising operating costs in particular.
The thesis made a number of recommendations, most notably the need to diversify the economic structure and utilize oil revenues to enhance the capabilities of other economic sectors, while also working to reduce oil costs as much as possible.
