THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A SEMINAR ON" THE IMPACT OF THE LOGISTICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE GRAND FAW PORT ON THE OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF IRAQI PORTS IN BASRAH GOVERNORATE... FUNCTIONAL INTEGRATION IS AN INTERMEDIATE VARIABLE":
The Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on "The Importance of Logistics Development of the Grand Faw Port as a Pillar Aimed at Enhancing the Operational Performance of Iraqi Ports in Basrah Governorate, Especially the Ports of Umm Qasr and Khor Al-Zubair." The study highlights the role of functional integration as an intermediate variable in improving the efficiency of port operations and enhancing their competitiveness.
The seminar, presented by Prof. Dr. Zainab Shalal Akkar and researcher Ali Nazim Khayoun, aimed to emphasize the importance of functional integration in achieving harmony between the operational activities of Iraqi ports, which contributes to reducing waiting times and enhancing handling efficiency. It also emphasized the role of integration in strengthening the connection between the Grand Faw Port and the ports of Umm Qasr and Khor Al-Zubair, supporting their regional competitiveness.
The seminar addressed a number of valuable observations related to the study sample and community, identifying it as a stratified sample appropriate for the study. Furthermore, the main variables were identified. Identifying the sub-variables present in the study, discussing them, and then making adjustments to some of them.
