THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH HOLDS A WORKSHOP ENTITLED "THE IMPACT OF CHANGES IN THE VALUE OF MONEY ON THE ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF ECONOMIC PROJECTS."
Two lecturers from the College of Administration and Economics, L. Dr. Mazen Sultan Aziz and Assist. L. Sattar Jabara Karim, held a workshop at the Continuing Education Center at the University of Basrah.
The workshop aimed to demonstrate the role of changes in the purchasing power of the monetary unit involved in an investment over the life of a production project. This is one of the investment indicators represented by the discounted payback period, the present value of cash flows, and the discounted profitability index, also known as the internal rate of return, which represents the discount rate that simultaneously makes the discounted cash flows over the life of the project equal to the initial investment cost.
Finally, the two lecturers discussed the most important methods for calculating the economic feasibility of these projects.
