University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness Workshop Titled "The Importance of the Statistical Role in the Population Census"

The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an educational workshop titled "The Statistical Role in the Population Census."
The workshop, presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Bahaa Qasim Abdul Razzaq and Assist. Lect. Rehab Ahmed Abd both instructors in the Statistics Department, covered the importance of the statistical role in the population census. The population census is an important tool for governments and international organizations to collect demographic and socioeconomic data.
The workshop aimed to highlight the statistical role in the population census, which is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data collected.
Finally, the workshop highlighted several important points, including how to design the sample, determine the size determined by statisticians (sample size), and design it to ensure representation of all population groups. It also included designing census questionnaires to collect the necessary data. It also included training analysts and observers on how to accurately collect and record data
