A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah examined the impact of the velocity of money circulation on inflation rates and economic growth in Iraq for the period 2004-2022
The thesis presented by the student (Muhammad Fahd Khashan Al-Sharifi) aims to know the relationship between the velocity of money circulation and both inflation rates and economic growth in the Iraqi economy on the one hand and the relationship between inflation and economic growth in Iraq on the other hand, in addition to analyzing developments in the previously mentioned variables during the study period.
The thesis concluded that the speed of money circulation in Iraq fluctuates between rising and falling, and the reason for this is due to the change in its components, the average speed of money circulation reached (3.1), which means that the demand for goods and services will double by about (3.1) per year. The speed of money circulation did not stimulate economic growth and was linked to the inflation rate in a direct relationship, and the reason for this is due to the lack of flexibility of the production system in Iraq.
