UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS AND GUIDANCE WORKSHOP ENTITLED “LAW AND GUIDANCE IN REDUCING THE PHENOMENON OF DIVORCE: CAUSES AND LEGISLATION”
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an educational and guidance workshop entitled (Law and Guidance in Reducing the Phenomenon of Divorce between Reasons and Legislation).
The workshop included lectures by Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi Kaban from the College of Education for Girls, Dr. Rafeef Abdul Hafeez Muhammad Taqi from the College of Education for Girls, and Dr. Abdul Alie Hamid Abdul Alie from Al-Kunooz University College.
The basic concepts of the phenomenon of divorce from several axes represented by the axis of family and legal guidance.  
The workshop aimed to encourage couples to think twice before making the decision to divorce, through a waiting period between the divorce request and its actual implementation, to give couples the opportunity to think about their decision.
Providing psychological counseling for couples to help them solve problems.
In addition to implementing community programs aimed at promoting family values and providing support to spouses.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended the necessity of enhancing communication and understanding between spouses, encouraging cooperation and mutual assistance, and promoting tolerance and patience in the face of family problems.
