UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS-RAISING WORKSHOP ENTITLED (CIRCULAR ECONOMY: REALITY AND POSSIBILITIES)
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah and the Department of Statistics, organized an educational guidance workshop entitled (Circular Economy: Reality and Possibilities).
The workshop, which was lectured by Dr. Widad Edward Wadi, a lecturer in the Statistics Department, included the concept of
A circular economy is an economy that aims to achieve sustainable development through reuse, recycling, remanufacturing and redesign. These principles aim to achieve environmental sustainability and reduce waste.
The workshop aimed to: Minimize waste and export it to the least. Preserve natural resources and reduce their consumption. Reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gases. Preserving biodiversity and reducing negative impact on the environment.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended enhancing environmental awareness and Achieving sustainability and reducing dependence on natural resources.
Developing green industries and sustainable technologies.
Improving infrastructure and infrastructure to support the circular economy.
