The Higher Diploma in Business Administration discussed ((Identifying problems and obstacles to electric power transmission and developing a strategic plan to address them, as a case study in the General Company for Electric Power Transmission Southwest Grids as an example)).
The research presented by the student (Ahmed Abbas Akib) consisted of four chapters, the first chapter dealt with previous studies and research methodology, the second chapter included the theoretical side of the study, and the third semester the practical side, and the fourth and last chapter came with the most important conclusions and recommendations.
The aim of the research is to identify the importance of strategic planning in the General Company for Electric Power Transmission, Southwestern Grids, as well as to emphasize the role of strategic planning, to diagnose the main obstacles and problems in the strategic planning process and the process of developing the strategic plan, and to explain the reasons for delay in implementing plans.
The researcher concluded that the percentage of implementation of the strategic dimensions of the checklist varied, but rather close to some extent, reaching a smaller percentage after 40%, which is the support provided by the higher management, and this is considered somewhat weak not quite ambitious and the percentage of applying the second dimension to the current situation which is strategic analysis was at a rate of 50% which is the existence of his plan but not the level of ambition.
The researcher recommended the necessity of adopting an integrated and effective strategic planning system in the form of stages with the support of the upper, middle and executive management and the provision of an integrated information system on strategic planning processes and the most important past, current and potential problems and obstacles.
