UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS-RAISING WORKSHOP ENTITLED (ADMINISTRATIVE, FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC CORRUPTION BETWEEN CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS)
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University, in cooperation with the career Development center at the University of Basrah, organized an educational and guidance workshop on the occasion of the International Day against Corruption entitled (Financial, Administrative and Economic Corruption between Causes and Solutions) on Sunday 15/12/2024 in Al- Huria Hall at the College of Administration and Economics.
The workshop, which was lectured by Assist. Prof. Ban Tawfiq Najm, Head of the Educational Guidance Unit, L. Dr. Azhar Abdul Latif Hussein, L. Mayada Kazem Natoush, and Assist. L. Israa Khairy from the Department of banking and financial Sciences, included defining administrative corruption as a phenomenon that affects efficiency and effectiveness in governmental and private fields, and it must be addressed seriously to achieve development and prosperity.
The workshop aimed to clarify the concepts of corruption, diagnose it, and analyze its causes in preparation for developing the correct procedures, methods, and recommendations to combat financial and administrative corruption.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended enhancing efficiency and transparency in public and private services and enacting strict laws to combat financial, administrative and economic corruption.
