UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS-RAISING WORKSHOP ENTITLED (ELECTRONIC BLACKMAIL AND ITS EFFECTS ON SOCIETY)
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the career Development center and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an educational and guidance workshop entitled (Electronic Blackmail and Its Effects on Society) on Thursday 12/12/2024 in the central hall of the college.
The workshop, which was lectured by Assist. Prof. Dr. Rafeef Abdul Hafeez Muhammad Taqi, a lecturer at the College of Education for Girls, included important concepts about defining electronic blackmail and classifying it as a serious crime, due to its negative effects on the victim, whether psychologically, socially or economically.
The workshop aimed to address the reasons leading to electronic blackmail, which are psychological and social reasons, as well as weak religious motivation.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended developing basic and correct methods that can be implemented to overcome the problem of electronic blackmail, including communicating with the security authorities, speaking with their specialized teams, and disclosing all the details and information about the blackmail incident.
