UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS AND GUIDANCE WORKSHOP ENTITLED (BODY LANGUAGE AND ITS ROLE IN DEVELOPING SOCIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS)
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics organized, as part of the activities of the Guidance Week of the College of Administration and Economics, an educational and guidance workshop entitled (Body Language and its Role in Developing Social Communication Skills) on Monday, 25/11/2024
The workshop, which was lectured by Assist. Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Aziz Saihood, a lecturer in the Department of Accounting, included the importance of body language as a non-verbal communication, which is issued by the body in the form of gestures and signals, which express internal feelings and sensations subconsciously, as many messages and ideas are conveyed to other people through these signals and gestures.
The workshop aimed to improve the person's language of communication, which he uses to communicate with other people, through the method of non-verbal communication such as using the language of the eyes. A way for an individual to express his inner feelings and emotions, as what an individual feels will certainly be reflected in his actions and behaviors and affect them.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended highlighting the nature of an individual's personality through correct body language and discovering people who may try to deceive or lie to a person by reading their movements and body language.
