MASTER'S THESIS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH DISCUSSES THE IMPACT OF US PENALTIES ON IRAQI BANKS:
A master's thesis at the University of Basrah, College of Administration and Economics, Department of banking and financial Sciences, discussed the impact of US penalties on performance indicators of the Iraqi stock exchange.
The thesis presented by the student Sally Mohsen Thajil aims to provide a comprehensive economic and standard analysis to show the impact of US penalties on the thirteen Iraqi banks listed on the stock market and the reflection of the impact of those penalties on the performance of some indicators of the Iraqi Stock Exchange.
The thesis included the use of weekly data for the period in which penalties were imposed on those banks.
The thesis concluded that imposing penalties led to a decrease in the average weekly performance of the number of traded stocks and their value in addition to a decrease in trading for non-Iraqis, buying and selling.
