A master's thesis in maritime management at the University of Basrah, College of Administration and Economics, Department of Business Administration, discussed the topic of transforming Umm Qasr ports into smart ports - an applied study.
The thesis, presented by the student, sea captain Hussein Abdul Hadi Al-Tamimi, aims to transform Umm Qasr ports into smart ports according to the requirements of modern maritime services technology.
The thesis included an analysis of the gap between the requirements of technological transformation that aim to reduce costs and time and compare them with the current reality of Umm Qasr port.
The thesis concluded the necessity of evaluating current operations and identifying areas that need continuous improvement and development by adopting advanced operations management methods and using modern technology.
