BASRA UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE ARABIC LANGUAGE

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hussein Tawfiq Shibli the Deanship of the College of Administration and Economics at Basra University and in cooperation with the Division of Educational Advising and Psychological Guidance at the College of Administration and Economics at Basra University held a special ceremony on Monday morning 21/12/2020, on the International Day of the Arabic Language On the eighteenth of December of every year.

The ceremony was opened with a fragrant recitation from the Holy Quran, then the Iraqi national anthem was played, followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq.

The ceremony included a speech by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hussein Tawfiq Shibli, and then Prof. Sabah Abdul Karim Mahdi, the speech of the Committee for the Preservation of the Integrity of the Arabic Language, after which poems were recited by a group of college students.

The ceremony was concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the poets participating in the ceremony.
