THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR ON (DRUGS AND THEIR HARM ON THE SOCIETY)
On Tuesday 22/4/2024 the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized an educational seminar on (The Drugs and their harm on the society).
The seminar aimed to give a clear picture of the scourge of drugs and the health problems it causes to society. 
The seminar which was moderated by Dr. Arafat Al-Yousef, head of the women’s affairs unit at the college, was attended by Brigadier General Jassim Al-Rikabi and First Lieutenant Jurist Raghad Al-Rikabi, commander of the women’s brigade in the police command.
The Brigadier Jassim Al-Rikabi explained that there is an addiction treatment center that can communicate with the leadership and report suspicious cases so that the necessary action can be taken in advance. Also, the First Lieutenant Raghad Al-Rikabi indicated that it is possible to call the free numbers 115 and 104 to communicate about drug problems while keeping the amount confidential and not disclosing about his identity.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the members distributed contact numbers with the leadership to report emergency cases in order to preserve the lives and safety of young people. There were separate meetings with the students to address some related problems and obtain information from the Dean, Director of the media center and the first lieutenant commander of the women’s brigade in the police command.
