BASRA UNIVERSITY HOLDS A SELEBRATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE ARABIC LANGUAGE:

The Committee for Preserving the Integrity of the Arabic Language at the College of Administration and Economics at Basra University held a special ceremony on the International Day of the Arabic Language.

The ceremony included reading verses from the Holy Quran, then playing the Iraqi national anthem and reciting Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq.

Then Prof. Dr. Sabah Abdul-Karim Mahdi delivered the speech of the Committee for Preserving the Integrity of the Arabic Language at the College, then Basra poets and college students recited beautiful and distinct poems.

At the end of the ceremony prizes were distributed to outstanding students in the Arabic language subject.
