THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN EDUCATIONAL AND GUIDANCE WORKSHOP ENTITLED (TOXOPLASMOSIS ITS CAUSES, METHODS OF SPREAD, ITS IMPACT ON PUBLIC HEALTH, AND ITS STATISTICAL ANALYSIS)
In Thursday 29/2/ 2024 the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, the College of Medicine, and the Department of Statistics, organized an educational and guidance workshop entitled (Toxoplasmosis its causes, methods of spread, and its impact on public health and its statistical analysis).
The workshop aimed to introduce toxoplasmosis, also known as toxoplasmosis, which lives mainly in the intestines of cats and is transmitted in cat feces, causing contamination of soil and fruits and vegetables and water and thus transmitted to humans.
The workshop, which was lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Mislon Abdul Hamid Nasser from the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, and L. Dr. Ban Anas Sabbar, from the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, and L. Dr. Asmaa Ayoub Yacoub, teaching in the Department of Statistics, and her teaching administration in the Department of Statistics, L. Mona Taher Ghafel. Who are the people most vulnerable to this disease and to what extent does it affect pregnant women, especially because it is transmitted through fetuses and causes miscarriages?
In conclusion, the workshop recommended washing hands, all used utensils, seafood, fruits and vegetables well before eating, in addition to cleaning countertops carefully and constantly.
