UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A CULTURAL SEMINAR ENTITLED (EAST AND WEST THE PROSPECTS OF ACCORD AND COMMENTARY)
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the college of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah in cooperation with the Association of University Communication, on Sunday 18/2/24 a cultural seminar entitled (east & west the prospects of accord & commentary)
The seminar aimed to explain the basic need for the culture of the East and the West, and moderation should take decisions from the West, such as the spirit of work, organization and discipline, and the methods of scientific research and technology development, but the West is not a role model for family life and morals, the East paved all the heavenly religions, and that the inheritance that the East carries has proven to make the human spirit And compassion better.
The seminar in which the assist. Lect. was attended by Mortada Abdel -Hussein Muhammad in the Department of Economics and Engineer Mortada Ali Sharif from the Association of University Communication several axes
The first axis dealt with the identification of the concepts of the East and the West and the opinions presented in that and the second axis, the characteristics of both east and west, advantages and disadvantages, the third axis, the nature of the relationship and the position with the West.
In conclusion, the seminar recommended the importance of adhering to the intellectual heritage in the East and making the human spirit through the religion of Islam, and the lack of absolute acceptance of the culture of the West or the absolute rejection, but rather a conscious culture that distinguishes between excellence in the material and physical dimension that was met by emptiness, spiritual emptiness and psychological fragility.
