THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP ENTITLED (THE NECESSITY OF INTELLECTUAL AWARENESS FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS)
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Al-Ghari Foundation for Islamic Knowledge in Al-Najaf, organized an educational and guidance workshop entitled (The Necessity of Intellectual Awareness among University Students) on 5/2/2024 Monday. The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean for administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Naeem Sabah Jarrah, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ammar Yousef Dajar, Educational Guidance Unit Officer, Assist. Lect. Doaa Shahid Habib, and Head of the Banking and Financial Sciences Department, Prof. Dr. Montazer Fadel Al-Battat.
The workshop, in which His Eminence Sheikh Muayad Al-Khorasani and His Eminence Sayyed Qasim Al-Hashimi lectured, included the need for intellectual awareness among university students in confronting fanatical trends and customs alien to our society that have torn the nation apart and distanced themselves from the pure sources of this religion represented by the morals of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, indicating Intellectual security and security are the vessel of faith and through them the nation lives and preserves its purposes and sanctities, based on the Almighty’s saying, “And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds,” indicating that intellectual awareness is one of the types of security through which nations advance.
The workshop aimed to foster intellectual cross-fertilization between the seminary and the university and open the way for forms of cooperation between the religious and academic institutions, in addition to consolidating religious and moral concepts in the hearts of students and also warning students of the dangers of intellectual invasion.
In conclusion, the workshop witnessed meaningful discussions and inquiries by the students, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the envoy delegation in appreciation for their efforts.
