THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP ENTITLED (A PROBLEM ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF GENDER FROM A PSYCHOLOGICAL AND LEGAL SIDE IN IRAQ)
On Wednesday 24/1/2024, the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an educational and guidance workshop entitled (A Problem about the Concept of Gender from a Psychological and legal side in Iraq)
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Prof.  Dr. Abdul Hussein Tawfiq Shibli and the Head of the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences, Prof.  Dr. Muntadhar Fadel Al-Battat. The workshop was moderated by the head of the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College Assist. L. Doaa Shahid Habib.
The workshop, which was lectured by Prof. Dr. Hana Abdel Nabi Kabin, a lecturer at the College of Education for Girls, and L. Dr. Abdul Alie Hameed Abdul Alie lecturer at Al-Kunoz college university sought to reveal the cultural and civilizational conditions that led to the transformation of the concept of gender and to reveal the role played by the feminist movement globally and locally in consolidating the idea of gender in addition to revealing the influence of gender on local cultures and in the Arab world.
The workshop included shied light on the meanings and connotations of the term, the history of its origin, the trends that contributed to its birth in modern Western societies, and its physical and psychological effects on societies.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended the necessity of combating such manifestations by establishing legal instructions when monitoring it to limit its spread in our society, as well as spreading awareness and education by holding seminars and introductory workshops, as well as adhering to what our noble religion and the Sunnah of our honest and trustworthy Messenger have brought.
