THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN ADVISORY SEMINAR ON THE PHENOMENON OF BULLYING, ITS TYPES AND CAUSES AND METHODS OF TREATING IT:
On Sunday 29/10/2023, the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics held an awareness-advisory seminar entitled (The phenomenon of bullying, its types, causes, and methods of treatment.
The seminar which was attended by the head of the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit, the assist. Lect. Doaa Shahid Habib, the assist. Lect. Rana Abdullah, teaching in the Business Administration Department, and the human development trainer Hawraa Muhammad Jabr from the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit, aimed to know the concept of bullying in terms and diagnose the cases that are exposed. To it and explain its types, which are divided into physical, verbal and electronic bullying, as well as knowing the extent of its psychological danger and its health effects on the individual and society and explaining the reasons that lead the individual to bullying.
In conclusion, the seminar recommended the necessity of preparing awareness programs directed at this phenomenon and programs directed at the family about the best methods to be used when an individual is exposed, such as increasing self-confidence and self-development and avoiding contact with bad friends who engage in bullying or aggressive domination and control behaviors.
