THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN ECONOMIC SEMINAR ENTITLED ((ANALYSIS OF THE REALITY OF THE PHENOMENA OF TAX EVASION AND INFORMAL ACTIVITIES IN IRAQ)):
On Tuesday 24/10/2023, the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah held an economic seminar entitled ((Analysis of the reality of the phenomena of tax evasion and informal activities in Iraq)). 
The seminar, which was lectured by the (lect. Adnan Habib Al-Hamidi) and the Assist. Lect. (Raed Abd Fahd Al-Saadoun), aimed to analyze the reality of the phenomena of financial leakage in the Iraqi economy resulting from tax evasion and informal activities and to try to identify the causes of these phenomena and their economic effects and develop appropriate solutions to reduce them.
The seminar recommended strengthening the state’s executive and supervisory role in collection systems, trying to keep up with the latest tax laws in the world, and emphasizing spreading the culture of tax awareness among taxpayers.
