A LECTURER PARTICIPATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH IN THE FIFTH ARAB CONFERENCE ON HIGHER EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 
Dr. Nadwa Hilal Gouda from the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah participated in the Fifth Arab Conference on Higher Education and Sustainable Development ((the Role of Universities in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals)) for the period from 10-11 September 2023 in Cairo.
The conference aims to highlight the role of universities in achieving sustainable development goals and reaching 17 goals.
The participation included presenting a research on academic excellence and the path to entering international rankings, “a study at the University of Basrah.” The research aimed to clarify the mechanism of academic excellence and how to enter international rankings. The University of Basrah was chosen as a model after obtaining advanced ranks in the Times classification of sustainable development indicators and other first rankings.
The conference called for working to achieve the goals of sustainable development and highlighting the role of universities, especially the University of Basrah, which seeks to enter all international classifications, and what it achieved in the Times classification is evidence of the path to academic excellence.
