THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH HOLDS A SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR ON DEVELOPMENT, THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ITS SUCCESS AND ITS EXPECTED EFFECTS ON THE IRAQI ECONOMY
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies, held a scientific seminar on the path of development, the requirements for its success and its expected effects on the Iraqi economy on Sunday 25/6/2023
The seminar aims to analyze the relationship between the development road and the Faw Grand Port project as an important link in the belt and Chinese road
The seminar was moderated by the Head of the Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Amjad Sabah Abdel-Aali, and was attended by Dr. Kazem Al-Talal from the Ministry of Transport, the lect. Dr. Muhammad Najah Al-Jazaery, Director of the Center for Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saddam Abdul-Sahib from the Center for Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies, and the assist. Lect. Wud Fathi Abdel Jalil from the College of Law has four axes. The first axis dealt with the requirements of implementing the development path strategy according to what was stated in the prime minister’s speech. The second axis showed the impact of the development path in strengthening Iraq’s geostrategic position and its geo-planning role. The third axis presented the relationship between the development and investment path and their impact on economic growth in Iraq. Futurism The fourth axis discussed the path of development, an international legal vision. The lecturers at the seminar recommended the necessity of activating investment in Basrah because of its significant impact on stimulating commercial movement, attracting maritime transport companies and exploiting port berths, with an emphasis on the importance of facilitating investment procedures and creating competition.
