A LECTURER'S PARTICIPATION IN THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRA IN A SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM ON THE 2018 BUDGET:

 The lecturer in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra, Dr. Shaban Saddam al-Emara, participated in a scientific seminar on (the 2018 budget of Basra’s rights between the language of numbers and the actual reality) organized by the Department of Economic Studies at the Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies Center with the participation of researchers and officials from the province and the lecturers Eng.  Falih Al-Khazali, Assistant Professor Shaban Saddam Al-Amara, and Assistant Professor Basma Kazar, and the Dean of the College, Dr. Naeem Sabah Jarrah, and a number of faculty professors attended.

 Dr. Shaaban explained the emirate that the state budget for the year 2019 neglected interest in important sectors such as agriculture and industry, the sectors of higher education, scientific research and education, as the investment allocations for these sectors are almost negligible.

 The researcher explained through his research the prejudice that befell Basra Governorate, this generous governorate that finances the budget with about (80%) of the revenues, but it gets only a little of these resources, if it is compared with the budget of the governorates of the Kurdistan region, as Basra did not get its due  Of the petro-dollars, which amounts to about (4) trillion Iraqi dinars, as the budget has been allocated to all oil-producing provinces an amount of (one trillion Iraqi dinars).  The injustice that has befallen this governorate. Therefore, at the end of the symposium, the representatives of the Basra governorate called on to demand the legitimate rights of the governorate.
