THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A FESTIVE CELEBRATION ON THE OCCASION OF THE UNIVERSITY DAY CELEBRATIONS
The Educational Counseling and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized a festival on the occasion of the university’s day, on the fifty-ninth anniversary of its founding, on Wednesday morning 26/4/2023.
The ceremony was inaugurated under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics Prof. Dr. Abdel-Hussein Tawfiq Shibli, and the presence of Messrs. Deans, the Dean of the College of Arts Prof. Dr. Aqil Fadel Al-Dahan, Dean of the College of Law Prof. Dr. Majid Abdel Hamid Al-Kaabi, Dean of the College of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, in addition to the student affairs officer at the university Prof. Dr. Shukri Shaker.
The ceremony, which was held on the university campus in the courtyard of the Banking and Financial Sciences Department, began with a speech by the Head of the Banking and Financial Sciences Department Prof. Dr. Muntazer Al-Battat, in which he emphasized the role of the university and its outstanding and distinguished students and their role in providing Iraq with scientific energies and competencies in order to contribute to the advancement and progress of the country.
The ceremony dealt with an aspect of chants, recitation of various literary poems, and display of students' talents represented in drawing, calligraphy, and other artistic works.
The ceremony aimed to highlight and encourage artistic talents, increase self-confidence for the owner of the artistic work, confirm his personality, and spread the spirit of competition among students.
The residents of the ceremony recommended continuing to hold such kind of celebrations and competitions for the purpose of informing the academic viewer of the different artistic trends and areas of creativity and innovation among students.
