BASRA UNIVERSITY ORGANIZES AN EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR ON THE EFFECTS OF PLASTIC AND LIMITING ITS USE:

The Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra, under the direct supervision of Dr. Naeem Sabah Jarrah, Dean of the College, organized an educational lecture on (The Effects of Plastic and the Limitation of its Use) by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Mahdi Nasser, Head of the Natural Seas Department at the College of Marine Sciences / University of Basra.

Nasser explained the types of plastic, its numbers uses and its impact on the environment and public health, as it is one of the derivatives that do not dissolve easily and leave a large environmental impact when burned, and it should be careful to deal with it to preserve the health of humans and other living organisms and the environment, noting at the same time the importance of recycling operations.

Nasser made a number of recommendations, including not to reuse single-use plastic and to use paper bags instead of plastic.

At the end of the symposium, a certificate of appreciation was presented by the Deanship of the College to the lecturer in appreciation and appreciation of his efforts exerted.
