THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A WORKSHOP ON FUTURE VISIONS FOR USING THE R LANGUAGE IN ANALYZING DATA STATISTICALLY
On Tuesday 14/2/2023 the Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on (future visions for using the R language in statistical data analysis).
The workshop which was moderated by the Head of the Department of Management Information Systems Assist. Prof. Dr. Duraid Hussein Badr, and was attended by Prof. Lect. Alia Hashim Muhammad, aimed at introducing the R programming language as an integrated set of software that allows data processing, computational operations, and graphic data display.
The workshop included presenting several axes, including the first axis, an introductory introduction to the R programming language and its importance, and the second axis explained how to download and install the R language. The third axis dealt with the definition of vectors and arithmetic operations in the R language. The fourth axis dealt with measures of dispersion and measures of central tendency. Finally, various examples was presented about R programming language.
At the end of the workshop, the researcher recommended using the R programming language instead of ready-made programs in the statistical analyses
