THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH HOLDS AWARENESS SEMINAR ON EMPOWERING WOMEN IN IRAQ
The college of administration and economics at the University of Basrah cooperation with continuing education unit holds awareness seminar on empowering women in Iraq on Sunday 5/2/2023.
The seminar which directed by the head of the continuing education unit Mrs. Shaimaa Qasim and Lect. Dr. Arafat Nassir Al-Yussif Which lectured in the management information system department aims to shied light on the women rights from political and economics side in Iraq.     
The seminar included the presentation of two axes, the first axis explain the role of empowering women from ancient times until the modern era in terms of all religions with a focus on the Islamic religion, and the second axis showed the political role of Iraqi women and what was mentioned about them in the Iraqi constitution scheduled after 2003 and the text of the constitution decided in 2005.
The seminar recommended the need to provide training and development for women and allow them to assume administrative and political advisory positions and empower them economically by providing job opportunities by offering small projects and providing them with financial loans in addition to emphasizing free education to eliminate illiteracy among them and prepare them to be women who are able to take responsibility for their children to create generation enables to work and build.
