A PhD DISSERTATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH DISCUSSES BEHAVIORAL BAISES AND THEIR IMPACT ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE IN THE CONTEXT OF FINANCIAL AWARENESS
ON Thursday 17/11/2022 the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah discussed a PhD dissertation in the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences on (behavioral biases and their impact on financial performance in the context of financial awareness for the term 2017-2021).
The researcher's dissertation (Hussein Karim Fadala) aims to understand and analyze the behavioral explanations that most financial managers suffer from in the global financial markets in general and local ones in particular, by attempting to grasp behavioral finance theories that provide an explanation for irrational behaviors in investment decisions.
The dissertation concluded that there is a negative impact of herd behavior bias on financial performance, but this relationship can be mitigated when financial managers obtain a sufficient level of financial awareness that enables rational decision-making.
