A HIGHER DIPLOMA RESEARCH AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSES THE REALITY OF STRATEGIC PLANNING IN THE BASRA OIL COMPANY:

 The higher diploma research discussed (the reality of strategic planning in the Basra Oil Company) at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra.

 Where the research aims to identify the reality of strategic planning in the Basra Oil Company and to reveal the criteria and components of success for strategic planning in the company as well as to reveal the most prominent obstacles to strategic planning, recommendations and proposals were presented to confirm the importance of strategic planning for the company's business.

 The research concluded that the percentage of strategic planning in the field of readiness and support for senior management is applied at 40%, and the strategic planning application in the field of monitoring and evaluation of the plan is 49%, and to overcome obstacles senior management must pay attention to qualifying specialized staff in the field of strategic planning.

 The researcher recommended removing ambiguity around knowledge of the scientific concept of strategic planning, forming a team specialized in strategic planning, and facilitating the process of receiving working staff in other ministerial formations who wish to work in the Basra Oil Company to benefit from their strategic specialties.
