A HIGHER DIPLOMA RESEARCH AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSES THE TRADE-OFF BETWEEN TIME AND COST IN IMPLEMENTING PROJECTS USING THE CPM METHOD:
The higher diploma research discussed (the trade-off between time and cost in implementing projects using the CPM method, a case study of a project for cladding and paving sidewalks with services in the governorate center) at the College of Administration and Economics at Basra University.
The research presented by the student Howraa Hamid Dakhil aims to highlight the importance of using quantitative methods, including the critical path method, Cpm, as one of the most important methods in project scheduling and addressing the problem of project delay and delay in implementation, which results in high costs by estimating the time required by using practical methods to find natural time.
The research concluded that not using sober practical methods in scheduling projects and relying on personal experience and inaccuracy in calculating cost and time and other methods that lead to project delay.
The researcher recommended the need to emphasize the use of quantitative methods in the Basra Governorate Bureau, such as the Cpm method and the PERT method in planning, scheduling and implementing projects undertaken by the governorate, as the use of these methods achieves effective results in planning, time and cost.
