HIGHER DIPLOMA RESEARCH AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSES OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES IN CASES OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY OF A SAMPLE OF EMPLOYEES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT

 The Higher Diploma Research (Occupational Health and Safety Management Procedures in Cases of Environmental Pollution) discussed an exploratory study of a sample of employees in the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region) at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra.

 The research presented by student Yahiya Hadour Jabr aims to determine the percentage of environmental pollution cases in Basra Governorate, to define occupational safety and health procedures in the Environment Protection and Improvement Department, and to know the nature of the relationship between occupational safety and health measures and cases of environmental pollution.

 

The research concluded the need for the state and officials to pay attention to environmental issues and pollution and to provide the necessary funds for the purpose of upgrading and advancing the environmental reality. An effective role must be given to the Ministry of Environment in following up on polluted activities and establishing their attribution.

 The researcher recommended that cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Education should be emphasized in order to consolidate the principles of environmental education and enact deterrent laws that limit the behavior of violators of the environment.
