The dissertation of the researcher (Mosab Abdul-Aali Thamer) aims to measure and analyze the competitiveness of the tourism sector in Iraq and to clarify the most important weaknesses and strengths in this sector, as well as to build a statistical model for the competitiveness indicators of the tourism sector in a sample of the selected countries in terms of the number of tourists through Panel Data models.
The dissertation concluded that Iraq occupied the last rank in the tourism competitiveness indicators that were measured with the sample countries as a result of its poor performance in the main indicators (the enabling environment, policies, enabling conditions, and infrastructure, natural and cultural resources).
