A MASTER’S THESIS AT THE UNIVERSITY of BASRAH DISCUSSES THE IMPORTANCE OF INVESTING IN THE COMMOM OIL FIELDS BETWEEN IRAQ AND NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES:
On Sunday 26/6/2022 the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah discussed a master’s thesis in the Department of Economics on (the importance of investing in joint oil fields between Iraq and neighboring countries for the period 2010-2020).
The thesis of the researcher (Ahmed Jassim Muhammad) aims to shed light on the evaluation of the investment contracts signed by Iraq within the framework of the fifth licensing round for the independence of the joint oil fields between Iraq, Kuwait and Iran, and to identify the best modern and economic ways that countries have followed to invest these fields in order to suggest them to the officials And its application to the joint oil and gas fields in Iraq.
The thesis concluded that Iraq shares with neighboring countries a number of oil and gas fields, and the greatest number of these fields is concentrated between Iraq and Kuwait on one side, and Iraq and Iran on the other hand, and that some of these fields are invested individually by one party without the other, and there are no agreements with these countries at the time.
