THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A PANEL DISCUSSION ON ADOPTIVE CAPABILITIES IN NONPARAMETRIC REGRESSION
The Department of Statistics at the College of Administration at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion on ((Adaptive Capabilities in Nonparametric Regression)).
The panel in which Assistant Professor Sahera Hussein Zain lectured, aimed to find adaptive estimators in nonparametric regression through the use of several methods of estimation, and to show the correlation between the qualitative estimator with nonparametric regression by applying to real data, simulation, and comparison between them.
The panel touched on the problems that researchers face when estimating the nonparametric regression functions as they depend heavily on the data and these estimates may be inaccurate, or there may be a problem in finding an efficient method that fits the nonparametric model, so adaptive capabilities were used in the nonparametric regression in the modern Lepski method to increase efficiency And the accuracy of the estimation on the one hand, and also the use of adaptive estimators in the nonparametric regression by the kernel and slices method on the other hand, to solve the estimation problem.
