A LECTURER AT BASRA UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST NATIONAL CONFERENCE TO CURB EXTREMISM AND TERRORISM
The lecturer at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra Prof. Dr. Adnan Farhan Al-Jourani participated in the first national conference to reduce extremism and terrorism, which was held in Karbala in the Guardians’ Hall in the Al-Hussali Shrine which was held under the slogan (Al-Qaeda and ISIS are a threat to societal peace) for the period (22-23/2/2022) 
The participation included a joint research with the lecturer Ali Talib Shihab at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra in title (The economic and social effects of the phenomenon of violence in Iraq, an analytical study for the period of ISIS’s occupation of some Iraqi provinces)
 The research aims to study the economic and social effects of the years of attrition as the Islamic State organization ISIS to some Iraqi provinces by evaluating the indicators of the Iraqi economy before the invasion and preparing it and providing a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities facing the Iraqi economy after the end of ISIS.  
The two researchers recommended eliminating the economic causes of terrorism, the most important of which are administrative corruption, poverty, unemployment and diversifying the Iraqi economy so that there is no dependence on a single economic resource and thus the economy faces many economic problems in the event of a political or economic crisis.
