BASRA UNIVERSITY ORGANIZES A SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM ON ELECTRONIC EXTORTION ITS MEANS, TYPES AND ITS DANGERS ON SOCIETAL PEACE
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra in cooperation with scientific societies and civil society organizations in Basra Governorate organized on Monday 27/12/2021 a cultural symposium on ((electronic extortion, its means, types and its dangers on societal peace)) with the participation of a group of researchers from different universities.
The symposium aimed to clarify the concept of electronic blackmail and its mechanisms, and to educate students about this negative phenomenon and how to address it.
The symposium which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Abdul-Razzaq Rahim Salal, Director of the Scientific Cooperation Unit with Scientific Societies and Civil Society Organizations, and in which Prof. Dr. Rafif Abdul-Hafiz Muhammad Taqi participated in Basra University College of Education for Girls and Assistant Professor Dr. Radi Obaid Naghimesh University of Basra College of Administration and Economics and Assistant Professor Dr.  Khawla Hassan Hammoud, University of Basra, College of Education for Human Sciences, researcher and Wafiqa Al-Momen, Southern Technical University, to clarify the phenomenon of electronic extortion and how to deal with it as it is a negative phenomenon and a danger that surrounds members of society in general and students in particular.
The symposium recommended that students should be careful in dealing with technology, not give confidence to anyone, and stay away from suspicious websites and links and in the event that someone is blackmailed he must go directly to the competent authorities and not respond to the blackmailer.
