BASRA UNIVERSITY ORGANIZES AN EDUCATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON THE EFFECT OF DRUGS ON HUMANS: TREATMENTS AND PREVENTION
On Monday 12/27/2021 the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra organized an educational symposium on the effect of drugs on human, treatments and prevention, with the participation of a group of researchers.
The symposium aims to shed light on the effect of drugs on the human body and how to treat and prevent the dangers of addiction.
The symposium which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Sami Obeid Head of the Department of Economics, in which Brigadier General Talal Ali Hussein and Lieutenant-Colonel Fouad Muhsir Jassem lectured, touched on several axes. The first axis included drugs in the law, and the second axis showed the danger of drugs to the human body and the third axis show crystal and cetagon drug treatment and prevention. 
The symposium recommended the necessity of amending the drug law, imposing the most severe penalties against drug dealers, establishing health centers to treat drug patients, and focusing on the role of universities by spreading societal awareness to limit the spread of drugs and the need to control borders with neighboring countries.
