BASRA UNIVERSITY ORGANIZES A SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM ON THE REPERCUSSIONS OF THE DEVALUATION OF THE IRAQI DINAR AGAINST THE US DOLLAR: ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL  

The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra organized on Wednesday 8/12/2021 a scientific and economic symposium on the economic and social repercussions of the devaluation of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar.
The symposium which was moderated by the Head of the Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Sami Obaid Al-Tamimi, and attended by Dr. Qasim Raheef Al-Fahad, Director of the Central Bank of Iraq in Basra Governorate, Dr. Yousef Ali Al-Asadi and Dr. Shaaban Saddam Al-Emara, aims at the economic and social effects of devaluing the Iraqi currency.
The symposium touched on three axes between the first axis foreign exchange systems the second axis referred to determining the value of the Iraqi currency after 2003, and the third axis explained exchange rate fluctuations and their economic and social effects, the most important of which is the high rates of inflation and the damage of the poor class and people with limited income.
