A MASTER’S THESIS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRA DISCUSSES THE PROPOSAL AND STUDY OF THE REDUCED BAYESIAN ESTIMATORS FOR THE MEASUREMENT PARAMETER AND THE RELIABILITY FUNCTION FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF TIME TO FAILURE (MAXWELL) UNDER THE SQUARED LOSS FUNCTION (SELF) AND LINEAR EXPONENTIAL (LINEX):
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra on Sunday, 14/11/2021 discussed a master’s thesis in statistics to propose and study reduced Bayesian estimators for the measurement parameter and the reliability function for the time-of-failure distribution (Maxwell) under the squared loss function (SELF) and the linear exponential (LINEX).
The thesis of the researcher (Sakina Sultan Aziz) aims to propose and study the best estimator for the Maxwell distribution based on reduced Bayesian estimators for the measurement parameter of the Maxwell distribution under the squared loss function (SELF) and linear exponential (LINEX) and compare it with the classical Bayes estimator using the comparative risk criterion .
The thesis concluded that the proposed estimators have a better performance than the standard Bayes estimator in terms of relative risks in the initial estimation, and that in the methods used to estimate the reliability function, the shrinkage method was preferred because it had the least total of MSE squares.
