PARTICIPATION OF TWO LECTURERS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH IN THE EIGHTEENTH CONFERENCE FOR STATISTICAL APPLICATIONS:
The Head of the Statistics Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bahaa Abdel Razzaq Qasim, and Assist. L. Muntazar Jumaah Mahdi a lecturer in the statistics department, participated in the 18th International Conference on Statistical Applications, which was held by the Iraqi Society for Statistical Sciences in the hall of the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority in the Ministry of Planning under the slogan “The Development Pillar for Building a Future Model for the Population of Iraq” for the period 23-24/4/2024.
The participation was represented in the research entitled “some methods for estimation the parameters of a new generalized” gamma-Weibull distribution”
The conference aimed to direct its research and recommendations towards confirming the importance of the General Census of Population and Housing and its role in formulating development policies and future directions for Iraq by providing comprehensive population databases in their demographic, social and educational characteristics and linking this within an integrated system in its spatial and local dimensions at the smallest administrative level to ensure the formulation Development plans and reducing spatial gaps are based on the latest and most comprehensive population data provided by a census after a long absence that has extended for more than three decades, which it is hoped will be implemented at the end of this year.
