A MASTER’S THESIS AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSES THE ROLE OF BANKING SUPERVISION IN REDUCING BAD AND NONEXISTENT DEBTS IN IRAQ FOR THE PERIOD 2008-2018:
A master’s thesis in banking and finance at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra discussed the role of banking supervision in reducing bad and existent debts in Iraq for the period 2008-2018.
The researcher Salma Jathlan Khalil's letter (The Role of Banking Supervision in Reducing Bad and Bad Debts in Iraq for the Period 2008-2018) - showed the relationship between loans and debtors and their impact on bad and bad  and nonexistent debts, increasing and decreasing.
The thesis aims to identify the mechanisms and procedures necessary for the success of supervision and submit proposals to reduce the problem of bad and nonexistent debts.
The thesis concluded that the high volume of bad and nonexistent debts is due to the defect in the banking supervision systems, the weak follow-up after granting loans and the weakness of the guarantees provided, and that banking supervision predicts weaknesses in banking performance and can therefore predict the occurrence of defaults in debts that lead to problems and crises in the banking sector.
